A recap

I iz happy!
I found and downloaded three Nightwish live audio bootlegs from 2008 (I now believe I have pretty much all from this tour), and their multi-camera gig from Sydney, and some other video thing from Milan. Also today I bought the Wishmaster CD! You see, I've gotten the albums in reverse order. First DPP, then Once, then Century Child, then OTHAFA, and now Wishmaster! It's too damn bad that Oceanborn doesn't seem to EXIST in Winnipeg, though AFF does. Retarrrrrrded. I totally want Oceanborn WAY more than AFF. I guess I'll just order it.

AND I ordered an Oomph! CD today! I now have roughly $14 on my credit card, aha. Can't reload it until I have $250, since that's the minimum. JOB TIME! (And I've been saying that for how long now?)

So, my weekend so far has been FANTASTIC!

Friday I went to visit Cory, which was just awesome because we haven't seen each other since October, and the thing is that even though so much time had passed, it still felt like it was grade 8 all over again and we were best friends. Nothing's really changed between us, except the fact that he's a pothead now, and a lot less of a jerk, lol.
So I got to his place and chatted with his dad and his mom for a bit and then the two of us went walking around Southdale. We went to some little park, and since it was so windy and cold, there was no one there, so he went and smoked up as I stood by awkwardly waiting for him to finish. Be proud of me, because I didn't give in to his peer pressure haha. Then we went to Dollarama and he shoplifted an Oh Henry bar (what a bad little child he is), but the store was too busy for him to shoplift anything else, so we went to Zellers and wandered around for a bit. After Zellers, we went back to his place and watched Cloverfield, which was actually a pretty good movie. I'd buy it if I saw it on for cheap. Then I had to go home, because my parents were getting drunk that night so didn't want to pick me up too late (wow, that sounds really bad, doesn't it? lmao).

So I got home and the neighbours were over. I said the typical hellos and then disappeared into the basement where I visited with my computer for a bit, and then got bored and went a visited my guitar. After a good long chat with it, I stuck three CDs in my stereo and put 'em on shuffle. I think I had Nightwish's Dark Passion Play, Within Temptation's The Heart of Everything and Sirenia's Nine Destinies and a Downfall in there. Yay for female fronted metal! So I just chilled and listened to music for about an hour or two, and then my mom started shouting at me through my door, asking if I wanted to play Rock Band with them. So I did, and that was...um...interesting. Basically all four adults were totally wasted, but Dallas was by far the worst. It was funny teaching Rob and Shauna how to play the instruments, and watching my mom attempt to play drums and fail miserably, but I think when Dallas had to sing, my ears quite nearly started bleeding. He completely butchered In Bloom, Say it Ain't So and Sabotage. *shudders*. It was bad...really bad.

He was also quite sick this morning.

And today I went shopping with Shanel and Chantal, and I bought a skirt to wear to the Nightwish concert (naturally I'll wear it other times than that, though I can just see Shanel doubting that. WELL IF PEOPLE DIDN'T FEEL THE NEED TO COMMENT ON THE FACT THAT I AM SKINNY EVERY TIME I WEAR A SHORT-SLEEVED SHIRT OR SHORTS OR A SKIRT, THEN I WOULD WEAR THEM MORE OFTEN. Fuck, I'm so so sick of that. So sick. Seriously. I can't stand it. Do people think I'm unaware of the fact that I'm skinny? Do they think I LIKE being as thin as I am? Fuck, and you all wonder why I hate how I look). As well as the Wishmaster CD.

Got home and then some of my parents' friends came over. I once again disappeared into my room with my guitar, but then my mom came and knocked on my door and introduced me to someone (whose name I can't remember, though I know it started with an M). She was really interested in the fact that I play guitar. She was actually a really, really nice woman. Someone who actually seemed to LISTEN to what I said. But I digress. I was introduced to her and her daughter Morgan, who's an EXTREMELY well-articulated three year old, and chatted with her for a bit about playing guitar and whatnot and then disappeared into my room again. Continued playing guitar (trying to get the hang of those artificial harmonics. I can finally hit the ones in WIHAA, but the ones in Sahara or Slaying the Dreamer are as yet out of the question) and then Dallas knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to play Rock Band. Thus, I wound up entertaining the children all evening. Actually, they were both really well behaved. Logan, the son of the other lady who was visiting (who didn't deign to speak to me), was super nice, and a pretty cool kid too. So I played Rock Band for most of the night with Logan, and then he wanted to play Sly Cooper on my PS2, so I hooked that up for him and went back down to the basement. Shortly afterwards, everyone left, though before leaving, the chick whose name I can't remember (and yes, I do feel totally bad for not being able to remember her name, though I think it's a pretty uncommon one...*sadface*), was talking to me about how she was on an exchange in Germany (fucking AWESOME!) and how she went to see some show in a bar put on by her cousin, and her cousin has a totally hardcore metal band. How cool! Then she was saying if I ever needed advice in pursuing my dreams of going on exchange to Sweden and/or Germany, that she'd be glad to share some! Everyone should be as nice as she was ^.^. I hope they come to visit again sometime.

So that was my weekend so far. Tomorrow I'm going to see Baby Mama with Janice, which will be awesome and I know this because Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, comedic duo sent from the GODS, are the lead actors!

NOW! I need your guys' help with something. Two somethings. This is important to me, so listen up.

1) I want to give Nightwish something when I meet them, but there are two problems with this. How do I give them a present without feeling like an idiot? And WHAT DO I GIVE THEM?! I was thinking one of those lame little Canada toques for Anette, since we all know how headwear seems to be a common present for her, from berets, to fluffy little pink...antenna things, to plastic tiaras. I thought that a Canada toque (like this one) would be pretty amusing to give her since it would remind her of Canada after all, and it would be funny, and we all know her sense of humour. BUT then I'd feel bad if I didn't get something for everyone else (because they're all fucking AMAZING), and besides, where the hell am I gonna find a toque like that at this time of year? SO I NEED SUGGESTIONS. What the hell hasn't been done before?

2) What do I get them to sign at the meet & greet? I was thinking the BBB DVD, the poster I got from Rock Sound magazine (since it's been folded already), the hoodie, and the Dark Passion Play shirt.
Is that too much?
Also, is it weird to have Anette sign the hoodie, since it is, after all, from Century Child?
And if I get them to sign the shirt, should they sign the front or the back?
Or should I just get them to sign one article of clothing?
In that case, there's the dilemma of it possibly being weird to have Anette sign a Century Child hoodie, but then I would wear the hoodie a hell of a lot more than the shirt, because that's just the way I am. Well, that and the six months of winter.

And yes, those are my rockin' red sheets in the pictures. Don't diss 'em, or I will punch you. In the face. Multiple times. Until you are a bloody pulp.

Nah, I'm kidding, I could never do that.

I'll hire someone to do that for me.

But anyways, I'll take off.

The countdown: 10 days!

Currently Listening: Two for Tragedy by Nightwish

Sleep, Eden, sleep, my fallen son.
Slumber in peace, cease the pain.
Life's just in vain for us to gain
Nothing, but all the same...
No healing hand for your disease.
Drinking scorn like water,
Cascading with my tears.

Get them to sign everything.. The hoodie, shirt AND poster! You spent money to go to their show, so they can atleast sign 3 things. And the thing about Annete thinking its weird to sing the hoodie, even though if it wasnt when she was in the band.. she's in the band now so she should be happy about that! And about the toque, maybe you should buy them all one, and you can usually get them at this booth in St.V outside Excetera!!
:D
